Job summary

Lionhires is seeking a Senior Backend Engineer for an on-site role in Ras Al Khaimah, UAE. You will architect and develop Node.js/Nest.js backends within a microservices setup, address high-load DB bottlenecks, and build scalable data services.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years with Node.js/Nest.js, strong SQL/NoSQL DB skills (MySQL, MongoDB), plus Redis, RabbitMQ, REST/GraphQL/WebSockets. Relocation support, vacation days, and visa assistance are provided to join a growth-minded team.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of commercial web development experience, with 5+ years on Node.js and Nest.js.
• Deep experience with relational/NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB) and Big Data.
• Strong knowledge of microservices, REST, GraphQL, WebSockets, Redis, and RabbitMQ.
• Proficiency in ES6+, Git, and Test-Driven Development (TDD).
• Intermediate or higher English communication.

Responsibilities

• Architect & Develop: Build and maintain in-house backend platforms using Node.js and Nest.js within a high-performing microservices architecture.
• Database & High-Load Optimization: Debug queries, manage indexing, partitioning, and optimize high-load SQL/NoSQL databases (MySQL, MongoDB).
• API & Service Integration: Design and implement high-throughput REST, GraphQL, and WebSocket integrations.
• Guard Reliability & Quality: Write clean, testable code following TDD, using Redis and RabbitMQ for reliability.
• Collaborate & Scale: Work with cross-functional teams to design and improve scalable data systems.
