Job summary

GSSTech Group is seeking an experienced Senior Node.js Developer to design, build, test, and maintain scalable backend systems end to end. This full-cycle ownership role requires taking responsibility for code quality with minimal QA reliance and the ability to influence architecture across teams.

You will develop RESTful APIs, GraphQL services, and secure authentication using SSO/JWT/OAuth while leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and cloud queues in an Agile fintech setting.

Qualifications

• Postgraduate degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent industry experience.
• Minimum 8 years of professional coding experience in Node.js, JavaScript, and database technologies.
• At least 1 year of hands on experience with TypeScript.
• Demonstrated experience in performance tuning, debugging, and system monitoring.
• Hands on experience writing and maintaining automated test suites (unit, integration, and/or API level).

Responsibilities

• Design and develop scalable, highly available RESTful APIs using Node.js.
• Build and maintain GraphQL based services
• Own end-to-end quality of delivered code, including unit testing, integration testing, and API/contract testing
• Own performance tuning, debugging, and monitoring of production systems
• Contribute to CI/CD pipelines and support troubleshooting across distributed service ecosystems
• Work with containerized environments including Docker and Kubernetes
• Integrate services with API gateways such as 3Scale
• Implement secure authentication using SSO and token based standards (REST, JWT, OAuth)
• Work with task and message queue systems including AWS, Microsoft Azure, Pushpin, and Kafka
• Uphold best practices in coding standards, security, unit testing, and documentation

The ideal candidate combines strong hands on engineering expertise with the ability to influence architecture decisions across teams and communicate effectively with senior stakeholders.
Prior experience in banking, financial services, or fintech environments is highly valued.
