Job summary

Bureau Veritas | Marine & Offshore in Abu Dhabi seeks a Senior Multidiscipline Inspector to lead compliance verification across welding, piping, pressure vessels and coatings on offshore and onshore projects. The role requires extensive QA/QC oversight and participation in contractor liaison.

Ideal candidate has 15+ years in oil/gas inspection, CSWIP 3.2 or equivalent, and strong English reporting skills, with experience reviewing ITPs and material certificates and generating inspection reports.

Qualifications

  • 15+ years’ experience in onshore and offshore oil and gas/petrochemical industries with third-party inspection and verification across welding, process piping, mechanical equipment, painting, coating, wrapping, hydro testing and advanced NDT.

Responsibilities

  • Review Manufacturer/Vendor documents per purchase orders and material specs.
  • Carry out Material Receiving Inspection by EPC Contractor.
  • Witness, verify and endorse welding procedures and welder qualifications.
  • Review and approve Inspection & Test Plans and material certificates.
  • Monitor and approve welding, NDT, PWHT and radiographs/NDT reports.
  • Inspect pressure vessels, heat exchangers, piping and structural work during fabrication.
  • Witness hydrostatic and pneumatic testing; oversee surface prep, painting and insulation inspections.

Education

CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-Sr, CWI or ERS welding inspection and PCN level II qualification

Qualifications
  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Welding or Metallurgical Engineering. CSWIP 3.2 or AWS-Sr, CWI or ERS welding inspection and PCN level II qualification is desirable and BGAS Level 2 or NACE Level 1 certification requirements.
  • Minimum of 15 years’ experience in onshore and offshore oil and gas/ petrochemical industry, third party inspection and verification of activities including Welding/ Process Piping/ Mechanical Equipment, Painting, Coating, Wrapping, Hydro testing and advance NDT methods with ability to assess NDT procedures, experience in review and approval of multidiscipline ITPs, procedures, site quires, NCR and concession requests.
  • Very good knowledge of spoken and written English language including writing of technical reports / procedures and QA/QC documentation
  • Proven experience in liaising with EPC Contractors.
  • Computer literate and familiarity with codes ASME, AWS, API, DNV, ISO and BS.
