Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Senior Research Scientist in the UAE to lead the development of advanced machine learning models focused on financial behaviour. You will work with large-scale datasets to develop models supporting credit risk, repayment prediction, segmentation, fraud detection and early-warning signals.

The role requires expertise in transformers, representation learning and time-series modelling, plus strong Python and SQL skills.

Qualifications

Master's or PhD in ML, CS, statistics, mathematics or a related field.
Hands-on experience with sequence data and time-series modelling.
Expertise in transformers and representation learning.
Proficient Python and SQL; experience with large-scale data platforms.

Responsibilities

Lead the technical direction of research and modelling projects.
Design, pre-train and fine-tune sequence and representation-learning models.
Work with transaction, repayment, behavioural and customer data.
Develop reusable customer representations across multiple markets and use cases.
Take models from research through to production and monitor performance.
Keep up with frontier research and adapt new techniques to real-world problems.
Collaborate with data, product, risk and engineering teams.
Mentor other scientists and raise the technical standard of the team.
