Job summary

Tanqeeb is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer to act as the on-site lead for large-scale developments, ensuring installations, testing, and commissioning meet design, codes, and authorities.

The role requires deep HVAC, plumbing, drainage and firefighting expertise, with 15 years’ experience in construction supervision within an engineering consultancy, and GCC/UAE familiarity with local codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Minimum 15 years total professional experience, with significant focus on construction supervision within an engineering consultancy.
• Regional Knowledge: GCC or UAE working experience and familiarity with local codes (ADCD, DEWA, or related municipal authorities).
• Technical Skills: Deep expertise in HVAC, plumbing, drainage, and firefighting systems.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day mechanical construction activities, ensuring quality.
• Evaluate and approve contractor shop drawings, submittals, method statements, and RFIs.
• Manage and mentor junior mechanical engineers, inspectors, and site teams.
• Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and local regulatory authorities.
• Witness and approve equipment testing, startup procedures, and final handover.

Key Responsibilities

• Site Supervision: Oversee day-to-day mechanical construction activities, ensuring quality and adherence to project specifications.
• Submittal Reviews: Evaluate and approve contractor shop drawings, material submittals, method statements, and requests for information (RFIs).
• Team Leadership: Manage and mentor junior mechanical engineers, inspectors, and site teams.
• Stakeholder Coordination: Liaise with clients, contractors, architects, and local regulatory authorities.
• Testing & Commissioning: Witness and approve equipment testing, startup procedures, and final project handover.

Requirements & Qualifications
