Job summary

SharpMinds Consulting Engineers LLC is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead mechanical systems design using Autodesk Revit and related BIM tools. You will collaborate closely with the BIM team to ensure seamless integration across disciplines and drive design excellence on complex projects.

The ideal candidate has 10+ years of experience in mechanical design, deep knowledge of UAE codes, and a proactive, collaborative approach to deliver sustainable, high-quality engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 10+ years of experience in mechanical design engineering with 3–5 years in UAE for healthcare, residential, commercial, hospitality or institutional projects.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for mechanical design; familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks and other BIM tools is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of UAE building codes, mechanical systems, design standards, and sustainability practices.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., PMP, LEED, or Chartered Engineer) is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with ability to present complex designs clearly to stakeholders.
• Strong collaborative skills and proactive approach to multidisciplinary teamwork.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) using Autodesk Revit, ensuring compliance with standards and client requirements.
• Develop detailed Revit models for mechanical systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts.
• Coordinate with architecture, electrical, and structural teams for integrated designs.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings, perform clash detection, and resolve design conflicts.
• Prepare mechanical design drawings, specifications, and schedules for construction.
• Assist in project planning, timelines, and resource management.
• Review and validate mechanical designs for accuracy and adherence to project specs.
• Prepare design drawings, specifications, and schedules for construction.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts and constructability challenges with BIM and design teams.
• Integrate energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions.
