Job summary

LACASA Architects and Engineering Consultants in Dubai seeks a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to lead complex MEP projects, with extensive UAE consultancy experience and Dubai authority familiarity.

You will deliver detailed mechanical designs (HVAC, public health, fire protection), compile specs, and coordinate with the project team to meet deadlines and budgets while ensuring regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Minimum 15 years overall experience in an engineering consultancy in UAE, preferably Dubai.
• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering and membership in a recognized body is desirable (CIBSE/IMechE/ASHRAE).
• Experience with Dubai authorities (DM, DEWA, Civil Defense, Trakhees, EHS, DDA) is required.
• Ability to manage complex high rise and hospitality projects from concept to detailed design.

Responsibilities

• Produce detailed mechanical design drawings with emphasis on HVAC, public health and fire protection.
• Prepare technical specifications and design development reports.
• Coordinate work with project team members and monitor performance of engineers.
• Ensure designs meet statutory requirements and project deadlines within budget.
• Support submittals and NOC processes to relevant authorities and attend meetings.

Job description

We are currently searching for a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join our Design Division based in Dubai.

The individual must be able to demonstrate minimum 15 years experience of working within an engineering consultancy in UAE (preferably in Dubai) in addition to good experience in providing sustainable design and should have experience in dealing with Dubai authorities (DM, DEWA, Civil Defense, Trakhees, EHS, DDA, etc.).

You must have the relevant qualifications, certifications and professional memberships and the capability to provide planning, leadership, direction and technical expertise to manage complex tasks and multiple projects in high rise buildings and hospitality.

You must also be a holder of a Bachelors Degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters Degree in Engineering (MEng) and be a member of a recognized professional body (CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE).

The Role:

• Detailed design drawings with a specialization in mechanical design (such as HVAC, Public Health & Fire protection system , BMS, irrigation , swimming pool , gas .....).
• Prepare technical specifications and schedules and design development reports.
• Understand the contract and scope of project deliverables.
• Coordinating his/her work with other members of the project team.
• Work closely with and monitor performance of Engineers (as appropriate).
• Ensure service and project work are carried out within agreed deadlines and within budget.
• Keep senior design team members informed of important and relevant service/design decisions and the objectives of the SSH Design and the client are achieved.
• Ensure statutory and regulatory requirements are met in all designs.
• Support the project submittals and No Objection Certificates (NOC) process to the relevant Authorities.
• Attend and contribute in team and project meetings as required.
• Minimum 15 years experience gained within an engineering consultancy.
• Proven track record of project design through concept to detailed.
• Experience in general MEP design software’s such as HAP software, MEP Revit, AutoCAD.
• Excellent communication skills in verbal and written Arabic and English.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering (BEng) or Masters Degree in Engineering (MEng).
• Membership of a recognized professional body (CIBSE, IMechE or ASHRAE) is desirable but not essential.
