Job summary

SharpMinds Consulting Engineers in the UAE is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer with extensive Autodesk Revit experience to lead mechanical designs and coordinate with the BIM team for seamless, integrated models across healthcare, residential, commercial, hospitality, and institutional projects.

The role requires a proactive professional who can manage complex projects, collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, and drive design excellence in our engineering unit.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 10 years of experience in mechanical design engineering, with 3–5 years in UAE for healthcare, residential, commercial, hospitality, and/or institutional sectors.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit for mechanical design.
• Familiarity with AutoCAD, Navisworks, and other BIM tools is a plus.
• Strong understanding of UAE building codes, mechanical systems, design standards, and sustainable practices.
• Professional accreditation (e.g., PMP, LEED, or Chartered Engineer) is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex designs clearly to stakeholders.
• Strong collaborative skills, with a proactive approach to working within a multidisciplinary team environment.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and implement mechanical systems (HVAC, plumbing, fire protection) using Revit, ensuring compliance with standards.
• Develop detailed Revit models for mechanical systems, including ductwork, piping, and equipment layouts.
• Coordinate with architecture, electrical, and structural teams for integrated designs.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and perform clash detection.
• Prepare mechanical drawings, schematics, specifications, and schedules for construction.
• Assist in project planning, timelines, and resource management.
• Review and validate designs for accuracy, quality, and adherence to standards.
• Prepare design drawings and schedules for construction.
• Identify and resolve design conflicts with BIM and design teams.
• Integrate energy-efficient and sustainable design solutions.
