Khatib & Alami is seeking an experienced Material Inspector to join our Construction Supervision team in Abu Dhabi. The role focuses on inspecting construction materials, verifying submittals, coordinating testing and ensuring compliance with specifications and authority requirements.

The ideal candidate has a Civil Engineering background with at least 10 years in material inspection for infrastructure projects, and experience in consultancy or construction supervision is mandatory.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related discipline.
• Minimum 10 years of relevant experience in material inspection for infrastructure projects.
• Experience in an engineering consultancy or construction supervision environment is mandatory.
• Proven experience in roads, highways, drainage, utilities, and other civil infrastructure projects.

Responsabilités

• Inspect construction materials delivered to site for compliance with submittals, specifications, drawings and project requirements.
• Inspect materials related to roads, highways, earthworks, drainage, utilities, concrete, asphalt, aggregates, reinforcement steel, pipes and precast products.
• Verify material approvals, delivery notes, certificates of conformity, test certificates and other quality documentation.
• Witness and coordinate field and laboratory testing per ITPs and project specs.
• Review laboratory test results and verify compliance with acceptance criteria.
• Ensure proper storage, handling, protection and identification of materials on site.
• Verify only approved and compliant materials are used in permanent works.
• Identify and report defective or non-conforming materials and follow up on corrective actions.
• Maintain MIRs, inspection reports, testing records and material registers.
• Coordinate with contractors, laboratories, suppliers, QA/QC teams and project engineers to resolve material-related issues.
