Job summary

EDGE, based in Abu Dhabi, seeks a senior Material Engineer to oversee materials for the turbofan propulsion system. You will ensure compliance with performance, durability and certification requirements, and manage material selection across subsystems.

You will collaborate with product engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain teams, applying metallurgical investigations when needed and participating in supplier qualification and audits. EDGE offers tax-free salaries and extensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Minimum 8 years of experience within turbofan propulsion, aerospace, or other complex engineered systems.
• Material expertise: Nickel superalloys, Titanium alloys, CMC, single-crystal, stainless steels, Ceramic coatings, TBC, composite.
• Material testing and behavior laws parameters and characterization knowledge.
• Solid understanding of turbofan architectures and technology interfaces.
• Experience with manufacturing/machining, FAI, Validation and Qualification.
• ASTM, ISO, AMS.

Responsibilities

• Organize materials database knowledge and strategy.
• Support Product engineering regarding material behavior laws in design and validation.
• Support Industrialization, Engineering Manufacturing, and Supply Chain related to production aspects.
• Define and approve materials selection for components and subsystems considering requirements.
• Manage risk and define what-if scenarios for turbofan performance and manufacturing.
• Define necessary material qualification and testing (creep, LCF/HCF, corrosion).
• Investigate root causes, metallurgical investigations if needed, non-conformance assessments.
• Support suppliers’ qualification and audit.
• Prepare deliverables and compliance documentation related to the field.
