Job summary

Azizi Developments in Dubai is seeking an experienced Senior Material Engineer to join our Fit-Out Factory team in Dubai South. You will lead material submittals, evaluations and coordination with Design, Procurement, QA/QC and site teams to ensure compliant finishes and timely approvals.

Ideal candidates hold a Bachelor's degree in Civil/Materials Engineering or related field with 8+ years' experience in fit-out materials, and have strong knowledge of material specification, submittal

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil/Materials Engineering, Interior Design or a related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong experience in material specification, evaluation and submittal management.
• Fit-out experience is preferred.
• Manufacturing/factory experience is preferred.
• Awareness of ISO 9001 Quality Management System.
• Strong knowledge of interior finishes, joinery materials and fit-out systems.
• Excellent coordination and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Prepare, review and submit material submittals for consultant/client approval.
• Ensure materials comply with project specifications, IFC drawings and authority requirements.
• Track approvals and coordinate with consultants and suppliers.
• Evaluate interior finishes including wood, laminate, veneer, paint, stone, glass, flooring, ceilings and wall systems.
• Review joinery systems, hardware, technical data sheets, samples and mock-ups.
• Coordinate with Design teams and propose alternative materials for value engineering.
• Coordinate with Procurement for sourcing approved materials and suppliers.
• Ensure materials meet project requirements, budget and lead times.
• Coordinate material requirements with factory production schedules.
• Inspect delivered materials against approved samples and specifications.
• Coordinate with QA/QC and site teams to ensure material compliance.
• Raise and follow up on NCRs for material deviations.
• Maintain material submittal logs, approvals and material databases.
• Support O&M manuals, as-built documentation and project close-out.
• Coordinate with Design, BIM, Procurement, QA/QC and Site teams.
• Attend technical meetings and resolve material-related issues.
