Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil, Materials, or Mechanical Engineering.
• 4-7 years of relevant material engineering/management experience.
• Experience in fit-out, interior, joinery, aluminum, facade, or manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Manage material requirements for fit-out manufacturing and production projects.
• Review project specifications, technical drawings, BOQs, and associated material requirements.
• Prepare material submittals, technical data sheets, samples, and documentation required for approvals.
• Evaluate and recommend appropriate materials based on technical specs, quality, availability, and cost.
• Coordinate with Procurement, Production, Design, QA-QC, and Project teams to maintain timely material availability.
• Liaise with suppliers and manufacturers regarding technical specifications, samples, compliance requirements, and material-related queries.
• Monitor procurement, delivery, inspection, storage, and consumption of project materials.
• Inspect incoming materials and verify compliance with approved specifications and applicable standards.
• Maintain accurate records of material approvals, test certificates, inspection reports, and material tracking information.
• Monitor material wastage and identify opportunities to improve material utilization.
• Ensure materials are handled and stored appropriately to minimize damage or deterioration.
• Work with production teams to resolve material-related technical issues.
• Identify suitable material alternatives when required and coordinate the necessary technical approvals.
• Support project teams in resolving material discrepancies, shortages, and quality concerns.
• Ensure materials remain compliant with project specifications, approved requirements, and applicable industry standards.
• Prepare material status reports and provide regular updates to management.

Technical Scope

The Material Engineer will work with construction and fit-out materials, finishes, hardware, and related products used within manufacturing and production environments. The role requires the ability to assess technical documentation and coordinate material requirements from specification and approval through procurement, inspection, storage, and consumption.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor 's Degree in Civil Engineering, Materials Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
• 4-7 years of relevant experience in material engineering or material management.
• Experience within fit-out, interior, joinery, aluminum, facade, or manufacturing environments.
• Strong knowledge of construction and fit-out materials, finishes, hardware, and related products.
• Experience preparing material submittals and coordinating technical approvals.
• Practical experience with procurement coordination and material inspection.
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, project specifications, and BOQs.
• Good understanding of material quality standards and testing requirements.
• Strong coordination and communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office and Excel.
• Knowledge of ERP or Material Management systems is an advantage.
• UAE or GCC experience is preferred.
