Job summary

Bahri in Dubai seeks an experienced Master Mariner to monitor day-to-day vessel operations, liaise between ships and the organization, and ensure compliance with safety, certifications, and regulatory requirements. You will coordinate inspections, audits, and shore activities to keep fleet operations safe and economical.

The role requires 3–7 years as Master on VLCC vessels and at least 2 years as a marine superintendent ashore.

Qualifications

• Master Mariner certificate of competency required.
• 3-7 years sailing as Master on VLCC vessels.
• At least 2 years shore experience as marine superintendent managing VLCC vessels.

Responsibilities

• Monitor inspections (SIRE/CDI) and flag inspections to ensure compliance.
• Assist with pre-vetting inspections and audits to identify risks.
• Participate in appointing port agencies and ensure timely payments.
• Oversee vessel transit in high-risk areas and coordinate with service providers.
• Support vessel loading/discharging operations with commercial team.
• Provide safety support and incident investigation as needed.
