Job summary

GMP Technologies is seeking a Marine Superintendent for an offshore facility based in the Middle East. You will oversee safe navigation, cargo operations, and the marine crew, including dry-docking and berthing duties.

The role requires 12+ years of relevant experience with maritime qualifications such as 1st Class Masters with Tanker Endorsement, SSO, MEMIR, offshore medical, and BOSIET. You will ensure SAMS compliance and budget support.

Qualifications

• Possess at least 12 years of relevant work experience.
• Higher National Diploma / Diploma level in Merchant Marine / Engineering and/or production trade certificate or other relevant qualification.
• Experience in berthing and un-berthing large vessels at offshore moorings preferred.
• 1st Class Masters or equivalent with Tanker Endorsement and GMDSS Operators Certificate.
• Ship Security Officer (SSO)
• MEMIR
• Offshore medical
• BOSIET / BOSIET-T as applicable.

Responsibilities

• The safe navigation, maintenance, marine and cargo operations, and supervision of marine personnel on-board the facility. (including dry-docking)
• All offtake operations including berthing and disconnection of the offtake tanker, cargo transfer and documentation.
• Ensuring that the requirements and procedures in the Safety Assurance Management System (SAMS) are implemented and maintained.
• Managing the human resources available to the marine group to maintain a flexible and efficient work culture.
• Fulfilling the risk management requirements by ensuring all risks in the marine operations are identified and procedures are established and implemented.
• Assist the OIM, in conjunction with other department heads, in the management of the Facility budget, preparation of accounts and financial reports, control costs and authorizes expenditures
• Administration and supervision of the Marine department.
• Provide guidance to all marine and crews in matters pertaining to the safe operating of the facility.
• Is deemed by position to ensure that compliance to the company SAMS is followed.
• Responsible for the safe navigation of the vessel during transit voyage.
