Job summary

Bahri, based in Dubai, seeks a senior QHSE professional to oversee third-party vessel inspections, audits, and ship visits across the fleet. You will implement ISM/ISPS/ISO standards, coordinate with external authorities, and lead corrective actions to sustain HSEQ excellence in operations.

Qualifications

• Preferred Bachelor's degree in Marine or Naval Engineering / Master / Chief Engineer’s Certificate
• Minimum 8 years of relevant experience
• Class 1 Certificate for Deck or Engine 8 years' experience at sea
• Must have sailed as a Master or Chief Engineer for at least 2 years
• Occupied the position of Safety Superintendent for at least 2 years

Responsibilities

• Set up third party inspections and provide pre-vetting support to Masters.
• Oil major inspection deficiencies analysis, root cause, corrective & preventive actions, and submission of responses.
• OCIMF & CDI changes analyzed; update SMS accordingly.
• Periodical analysis of third-party inspection performance.
• Provide pre-vetting support to Master for inspections/audits.
• Implement ISM Code on new vessels joining the fleet.
• Join ships for inspections and audits (ISM, ISO, ISPS).
• Participate in investigation of accidents/incidents requiring QHSE leadership.
• Assist in collating information and compiling investigation reports.
• Conduct Navigation Audits and review audit reports for non-conformances.
• Maintain Nav-Audit database and coordinate internal ship/shore audits.
• Coordinate with external maritime authorities and auditors; support audit closures.
• Active participant in drills; organize quarterly ship-shore drills with Master.
