Job summary

Zurich Insurance is seeking a Senior Underwriter – Marine for its Commercial Insurance Middle East team based in Dubai. You will independently underwrite medium to high complexity Marine Cargo business within delegated authority while applying deep product knowledge and market insight.

You will build strong broker and client relationships, assess risk, negotiate terms, and guide less experienced underwriters. A Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in underwriting or related field are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 7+ years in underwriting or market-facing area.
• Strong knowledge of Marine Cargo underwriting philosophy, techniques and regulations.
• Ability to assess risk and work in a team-based environment.

Responsibilities

• Underwrite and analyze new and renewal Marine cargo business within delegated authority.
• Apply specialized knowledge of Marine Cargo and industry to pricing and structuring.
• Administer underwriting rules, guidelines, and applicable insurance laws.
• Develop and maintain broker/distributor relationships to support retention and growth.
• Provide guidance and training to junior underwriters.
• Proactively seek renewal and new account opportunities.
• Negotiate terms and conditions and close deals.
