Job description

ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Employer Brand & Internal Communications owns the strategy, positioning and day-to-day running of the Group’s employer brand and internal communications capability. The role turns the overall brand and communications direction into a clear employer brand and internal communications plan and leads the execution team that delivers it. It defines how the Employee Value Proposition is positioned for internal and external audiences, sets the annual campaign and channel plan, and builds the processes, tools and standards that help the team deliver consistently. The role also oversees wellbeing and culture activations. It works closely with Talent Acquisition, HR Business Partners, Marketing and Corporate Communications to keep messaging aligned across markets. Success is measured through employer brand perception, employee engagement, and campaign performance.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Own the employer brand strategy and EVP positioning within the overall brand direction and ensure it is applied consistently across all internal and external channels and aligned with the Group’s corporate identity and business priorities.
  • Lead the internal communications plan, including the editorial calendar, channel strategy (email, intranet, enterprise social platforms, digital signage, and all-employee events) and leadership messaging. Ensure organizational announcements, HR initiatives and change programmes are communicated clearly, on time and in a consistent voice. Draft and review messages from senior leaders and executives.
  • Build and run the employer brand and internal communications capability: operating model, annual plan, budget tracking, workflows, approval processes, brand guidelines, templates, and toolkits. Manage agencies, vendors, and wellbeing partners, including briefs, scopes, and delivery quality. Continuously improve how the team plans, produces, and measures its work.
  • Oversee the planning and delivery of multichannel campaigns covering employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and key internal moments. Set campaign objectives, review creative and content for quality and brand fit, and ensure the execution team delivers on time and on budget.
  • Set the direction for wellbeing and culture-building programmes and ensure they connect to the EVP. Oversee awareness days, wellbeing initiatives and culture moments delivered by the team and in partnership with HR Business Partners across the business.
  • Act as the primary partner for HR and business stakeholders on employer brand and internal communications, advising on messaging, timing, and channel choice for their initiatives.
  • Grow the employer brand presence through digital and social platforms, review sites, university partnerships, and employee advocacy. Lead corporate communications, media relations and issue or crisis communications where employees are affected, including preparing internal messaging and Q&As.
  • Define the KPIs for employer brand and internal communications, such as reach, engagement, employer brand perception, candidate attraction, and survey participation. Report results regularly to the line manager and uses insights to refine strategy, channels, and content.

FUNCTIONAL / TECHNICAL COMPETENCIES

  • Strong expertise in EVP development and brand positioning across internal and external channels and markets.
  • Proven ability to design and run a multichannel internal communications plan (email, intranet, enterprise social platforms, live and virtual employee events), including leadership and change communications.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills, with a strong eye for creative quality and how visuals and messaging work together.
  • Experience leading end-to-end planning, rollout and measurement of brand, engagement, and wellbeing campaigns.
  • Ability to set up operating models, processes, guidelines, and toolkits, and to manage budgets, agencies, and vendors.
  • Strong influencing and collaboration skills with HR, Marketing, Communications, and business leaders.
  • Proficiency in using digital and social platforms for employer brand amplification and employee advocacy.
  • Ability to set KPIs, interpret engagement and brand metrics, and turn insights into improvements.
