Job summary

Client of Brunel in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Lifting Supervisor to oversee lifting operations across construction and industrial projects on a contract basis.

The role requires 5-8 years in lifting supervision, ADNOC/UAE experience, and a Diploma in mechanical or civil disciplines. You will coordinate with the Appointed Person and crane crews to ensure safety, compliance and efficient lifting activities.

Qualifications

• Diploma or relevant technical qualification in Mechanical, Civil, Construction or related field.
• Minimum 5-8 years lifting supervision experience in Oil & Gas or petrochemical settings.
• Experience with lifting operations in construction/industrial projects preferred.
• Proven experience with ADNOC/UAE/GCC environments and documented credentials.

Responsibilities

• Supervise lifting operations per approved lifting plans, method statements, risk assessments and site procedures.
• Ensure compliance with HSE requirements, UAE regulations, client standards and lifting standards.
• Coordinate with Appointed Person, HSE, Crane Operators, Riggers and Banksmen for safe lifting.
• Verify crane setup, ground conditions, lifting radius, load capacity, boom configuration, outriggers and exclusion zones.
• Ensure lifting gear and rigging are inspected, certified and fit for use.
• Supervise rigging, signaling and load handling for safe lifting practices.
• Conduct pre-lift briefings and toolbox talks on plans, hazards, controls and comms.
• Monitor lifting activities and stop work for unsafe conditions or deviations.
• Ensure lifting personnel are competent, trained and authorized.
• Inspect lifting areas for obstructions, underground services and access restrictions.
• Maintain lifting exclusion zones and control access near suspended loads.
• Supervise lifting of heavy equipment, piping, vessels and modules.
• Maintain required lifting records, permits, checklists and documentation.
