Job summary

Want More, a reputable library in Sharjah, UAE, is seeking a Senior Librarian with a passion for books and knowledge. You will manage the library's collection, develop and implement policies, and supervise day-to-day operations to ensure excellent service for patrons.

Requirements include a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library Science or a related field, a minimum of five years’ experience, and strong knowledge of library management systems and cataloging standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Library Science or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience as a librarian in a similar role.
• Excellent knowledge of library management systems, cataloging standards, and research tools.
• Strong communication skills in English (written and verbal).
• Ability to work independently and with a team.

Responsibilities

• Manage the library's collection by selecting, acquiring, and organizing materials.
• Develop and implement library policies to ensure efficient use of resources and services.
• Supervise and train junior librarians and support staff.
• Oversee maintenance of library equipment and facilities.
• Create programs and events to promote reading culture among patrons.
• Assist patrons with research inquiries and information literacy instruction.
• Collaborate with other departments to support information needs.
• Stay updated on industry trends and best practices in librarianship.
