Job summary

We are seeking an experienced Librarian to join our team in Sharjah, UAE. The successful candidate will manage the library’s collection, assist patrons, and provide reference services, ensuring accurate circulation records and excellent customer service.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of library science, strong organizational skills, and the ability to train new staff while leveraging current library technologies to support public programs and community needs.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Librarian or in a similar role.
• Knowledge of library science principles and practices.
• Strong organizational, interpersonal, and customer-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage the library collection and catalog records.
• Assist patrons in locating materials and using library resources.
• Perform circulation bookkeeping and keep accurate records.
• Provide reference services to patrons and support research needs.
• Stay current on new acquisitions and library technologies.
• Train new staff members and support ongoing staff development.
• Create marketing materials for library events and programs.
• Provide basic technical support for library computers and equipment.
