Job summary

Consulture Search is seeking a seasoned Underwriter to support liability insurance underwriting, pricing, and policy management in line with guidelines and regulatory requirements. The role involves handling property damage, personal injury, and product liability risks, coordinating with brokers and clients to structure suitable coverage, and supporting portfolio monitoring across claims and legal teams.

Ideal candidates will have 5+ years of underwriting experience in casualty/financial lines,

Qualifications

• Graduate degree preferably in Engineering Science
• Insurance qualifications ACII or III while CPCU is preferred
• Risk management qualification is advantageous
• Law qualification is an advantage
• Proven ability in underwriting and workload prioritisation
• Minimum 5+ years underwriting experience across casualty/financial lines

Responsibilities

• Applies underwriting and risk selection techniques to determine acceptability of new and renewal risks.
• Responds to inquiries from distribution teams regarding underwriting processes and decisions.
• Review special programs for intermediaries to improve profitability.
• Receive and review new business proposals, endorsements and renewals within authorised limits.
• Assess, evaluate and price risk using modelling and guidelines.
• Prepare monthly management reports on underwriting costs and exposures.
• Provide quotes to brokers/clients based on risk analyses with seniors’ consultation.
• Escalate customer issues when timely resolution is not achieved.
• Liaise with distribution, finance, and reinsurers to manage premium receivables and payments.
• Attend broker/client meetings as required.
