Job summary

Client of Salt is seeking a Senior Integration Engineer in Abu Dhabi to design and build secure, production-grade integrations across ERP, HR, Finance, and custom applications. The role demands hands-on API development, event-driven thinking, and a focus on reliability and observability.

You will work across enterprise platforms, define API contracts, manage data model transformations, and implement secure authentication patterns.

Qualifications

• You will have 6+ years of experience in enterprise integration or backend engineering.
• Strong hands-on experience designing and implementing APIs and integration services.
• Deep knowledge of REST, JSON and HTTP; experience with SOAP/XML and legacy integrations.
• Experience with asynchronous messaging and event-driven architecture; good error handling and retries.

12-month initial contract with extensions We are seeking an experienced Senior Integration Engineer to join a high-profile technology environment in Abu Dhabi connecting modern digital products and automation services with complex enterprise platforms Sitting at the intersection of application engineering and enterprise technology you will design and build secure reliable integrations across ERP HR Finance collaboration platforms and custom applications This is not an ETL-only or middleware administration role We are looking for an engineer who can design and build production-grade APIs event flows messaging patterns and integration services while solving the challenges that come with connecting complex enterprise systems

What You ll Be Doing

• Design and implement robust system-to-system integrations across enterprise platforms
• Build and consume REST OData SOAP and enterprise APIs
• Develop asynchronous integrations using messaging and event-driven architectures
• Design integration patterns supporting complex and long-running enterprise workflows
• Define API contracts and integration standards alongside application and platform engineering teams
• Build transformations between different enterprise data models and establish canonical schemas where appropriate
• Engineer resilient integrations using retries timeout handling idempotency reconciliation and dead-letter processing
• Design solutions capable of safely handling partial failures and unavailable downstream systems
• Implement OAuth2 service identities certificates and enterprise authentication authorisation patterns
• Apply API versioning lifecycle management and API gateway standards
• Maintain auditability traceability and appropriate handling of sensitive information across system boundaries
• Build logging monitoring and alerting to ensure integrations are observable and supportable in production
• Troubleshoot complex production issues spanning multiple enterprise systems
• Support integration testing UAT deployment and production rollout

What We re Looking For

You will have 6+ years of experience in enterprise integration or backend engineering , with strong hands-on experience designing and implementing APIs and integration services. You should bring strong knowledge of REST, JSON and HTTP , alongside experience working with SOAP/XML and legacy enterprise integrations . You ll also understand asynchronous messaging and event-driven architecture, including practical experience with error handling, retry strategies, idempotency and production reliability. Hands-on development experience with Java, C#, Python, Go or a comparable backend language is required, alongside experience supporting enterprise integrations in production.
