Job summary

SearchPlus HR assisting a leading UAE healthcare organization to hire an experienced Consultant Intensive Care Specialist with Australian Board qualification for the critical care team. The role delivers high-standard consultant-level care to critically ill patients and supports quality improvement.

The candidate should hold MBBS or equivalent, Australian Board/Fellowship in Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM or equivalent), current specialist registration, and be eligible for DOH/DHA licensing.

Qualifications

• MBBS or equivalent medical degree.
• Australian Board/Fellowship qualification in Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM or equivalent).
• Relevant consultant-level clinical experience.
• Current specialist registration and good professional standing.
• Experience in a tertiary-care or academic hospital is preferred.
• Eligible for DOH/DHA medical licensing depending on location.
• Strong clinical, communication, leadership, and decision-making skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level care to critically ill and high-dependency patients.
• Manage complex medical and surgical intensive care cases.
• Perform comprehensive patient assessments and develop individualized critical care plans.
• Manage mechanical ventilation, hemodynamic support, sepsis, multi-organ failure, and other critical conditions.
• Perform and supervise appropriate invasive and non-invasive critical care procedures.
• Coordinate patient care with emergency medicine, surgery, cardiology, and other specialties.
• Participate in rapid response, resuscitation, and emergency management.
• Communicate effectively with patients' families regarding treatment plans and clinical progress.
• Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with UAE healthcare regulations and hospital policies.
• Participate in multidisciplinary meetings, clinical governance, teaching, audit, research, and quality-improvement activities.
