Job summary

ARX seeks a Senior ICT/ELV & ITS Engineer to lead design and coordination of ICT, ELV, and ITS systems for major infrastructure, transportation, buildings, airports, tunnels, data centres, hospitality and commercial projects.

The ideal candidate will drive concept designs through tender documentation, ensuring compliance with NFPA, BS, IEC, IEEE, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, SIRA, and Civil Defense standards, while coordinating with multidisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 12–15 years of experience in ICT/ELV/ITS design within engineering consultancy or multidisciplinary design environments.
• Strong understanding of UAE/GCC authority requirements and international standards.
• Proficiency in BIM coordination, design documentation, and related software.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate ICT/ELV/ITS design for infrastructure, transportation, buildings, airports, tunnels, data centres, hospitality, and commercial projects.
• Develop concept designs, schematic layouts, detailed designs, design reports, specifications, calculations, schedules, BOQs, cost estimates, and tender documentation.
• Prepare and review designs for structured cabling, data and voice networks, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, fire alarm, BMS, SCADA, AV, and related systems.
• Coordinate with electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, fire safety, security, and BIM teams to ensure fully integrated designs.
• Provide mentoring to junior engineers and CAD/Revit modelers and ensure quality across deliverables.

Senior ICT / ELV & ITS Engineer - 100% (m/f)

The Ideal Candidate will have strong experience in the design and coordination of ICT, ELV, and ITS systems for major infrastructure, transportation, railway & metros, buildings, airports, tunnels, hospitality, commercial, data centre, and mixed-use developments. The candidate should be capable of leading design activities from concept through detailed design and tender documentation, while coordinating with multidisciplinary engineering teams and supporting client-facing technical discussions. A strong understanding of structured cabling, data and voice networks, CCTV, access control, fire alarm, PA/VA, BMS, SCADA, AV, and related low-current systems is required. The candidate should be proficient in design documentation, technical specifications, BOQs, calculations, compliance reviews, BIM/Revit coordination, and applicable UAE/GCC and international standards

Responsibilities:

• Lead and coordinate the design of ICT, ELV, and ITS systems for infrastructure, transportation, buildings, airports, tunnels, data centres, hospitality, and commercial projects.


• Develop concept designs, schematic layouts, detailed designs, design reports, technical specifications, calculations, schedules, BOQs, cost estimates, and tender documentation.


• Prepare and review designs for structured cabling, data and voice networks, CCTV, access control, intrusion detection, intercom, fire alarm, PA/VA or PAVA, BMS, SCADA, AV, IPTV/SMATV, and related ELV systems.


• Develop ICT and ELV infrastructure planning, containment layouts, equipment room requirements, rack layouts, network connectivity, field device layouts, and system integration strategies.


• Support ITS-related design where applicable, including traffic CCTV, variable message signs, traffic data collection, fibre optic communication networks, and central management or integration platforms.


• Coordinate closely with electrical, mechanical, architectural, structural, civil, fire and life safety, security, and BIM teams to ensure fully integrated and coordinated designs.


• Review drawings, models, technical calculations, material specifications, compliance matrices, and design submissions to ensure accuracy, quality, and compliance with project requirements.


• Ensure design outputs are aligned with relevant international and local standards, including NFPA, BS, IEC, IEEE, TIA/EIA, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, SIRA, and other applicable authority requirements.


• Participate in technical workshops and design coordination meetings with clients, consultants, authorities, specialist vendors, and internal project teams.


• Use and coordinate design inputs through relevant tools such as Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, Bluebeam, CCTV coverage tools, network bandwidth calculators, PA/VA calculations, and other discipline-specific software.


• Contribute to design risk assessments, value engineering, technical clarifications, and alternative solutions to improve system performance, constructability, and cost effectiveness.


• Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers and CAD/Revit modelers while maintaining consistent quality across deliverables.

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Communication Engineering, ICT, or a related discipline.


• Minimum 12 to 15 years of relevant experience in ICT, ELV, low-current, security, building technology, or ITS systems design within engineering consultancy or multidisciplinary design environments.


• Strong experience in developing ICT / ELV designs from concept through detailed design, tender documentation, and construction-stage design support.


• Proven experience across systems such as structured cabling, data communication, voice communication, CCTV, access control, intercom, fire alarm, PA/VA, BMS, SCADA, AV, IPTV/SMATV, and related integration platforms.


• Experience on large-scale infrastructure, transportation, airport, tunnel, data centre, commercial, hospitality, mixed-use, or building projects.


• Good understanding of UAE/GCC authority requirements and international standards, including NFPA, BS, IEC, IEEE, TIA/EIA, UAE Fire & Life Safety Code, SIRA, and Civil Defense requirements.


• Proficiency in Revit MEP, AutoCAD, Navisworks, MS Office, and relevant ICT/ELV calculation, simulation, and design review tools.


• Ability to prepare and review design basis reports, technical specifications, drawings, BOQs, material take-offs, compliance matrices, calculations, and technical reports.


• Strong multidisciplinary coordination skills with the ability to interface effectively with MEP, civil, architectural, structural, fire and life safety, security, and BIM teams.


• Experience in technical workshops, client coordination, design reviews, authority coordination, and vendor or specialist subconsultant coordination.


• Middle East / GCC experience is preferred; UAE project experience and familiarity with Dubai authority requirements will be an advantage.


• Familiarity with PMC frameworks, risk management, and stakeholder coordination processes.


• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English, with strong analytical, problem-solving, and reporting capabilities.
