Job summary

Cyberia Group is seeking a senior Mechanical Engineer to lead the design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for commercial and institutional facilities in Abu Dhabi. The role requires 10–12 years of mechanical building services experience, preferably in Oil & Gas, and a strong command of ASHRAE, SMACNA, API, ASME, ISO, and ANSI codes.

You will develop mechanical system designs, create final construction documents, conduct site surveys, and coordinate with architectural and engineering

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 10–12 years of relevant experience in mechanical building services, oil & gas preferred.
• Familiarity with international and national codes such as ASHRAE, SMACNA, API, ASME, ISO, ANSI.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection for facilities.
• Develop and review design plans, specifications, and sequences of operation.
• Coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical and plumbing teams.
• Perform site surveys and assist with as-built generation and rehab designs.
• Determine work priorities and oversee drawings for installation.

Job description

• Continually establishes and/or reviews technical design, criteria, and specifications for all mechanical systems
• Assist with the mechanical design of heating, ventilation, fueling systems, and air conditioning systems plumbing and fire protection for commercial and institutional facilities
• Work independently and make technical mechanical decisions based on building code interpretation and company standard practice
• Designing mechanical building systems including HVAC and plumbing
• Create mechanical building system design plans from engineering concepts
• Communicate and coordinate with architectural, structural, electrical, plumbing and fire protection
• Interacts with senior management and senior customer representatives
• Performing assignments of limited scope and complexity
• Develops heat load analysis models, flow models, as required for the design of facility systems
• Generates overall plans, layouts, schematics, flow diagrams, for the concept and implementation phases of projects
• Development of final design documents including specification, sequences of operation the piping layout and final construction documents associated with these systems
• Performs site surveys of existing facilities for as-build generation, rehabilitation designs, and for construction support of new facilities
• Advises internal customers on purchasing processes

• Work with construction managers for constructability reviews and resolution of issues that come up during construction
