Job summary

Innovo Group is seeking an experienced HSE professional to ensure full compliance with local and international standards and to implement the HSE Management System across the site.

You will lead daily site inspections, enforce PPE and safety practices, and deliver inductions and ongoing training for workers and subcontractors in a busy GCC contracting environment.

Qualifications

• NEBOSH certification is required.
• Diploma or degree required by client specifications.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant HSE experience.
• Hands-on experience implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and perform shift work.

Responsibilities

Job Description:

Role Purpose

To ensure full compliance with local, statutory, and international HSE standards, rules, and regulations, and to effectively implement the HSE Management System across the site.

HSE and Quality Accountabilities:

• Comply with company HSE and Sustainability policies and contribute to maintaining a safe, healthy, and sustainable workplace.
• Adhere to Quality standards and support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance business performance.

• Ensure compliance with local, statutory, and international HSE standards, rules, and regulations, and implement the HSE Management System; ensure HSE policies are clearly and regularly communicated to all employees; and apply HSE disciplinary procedures when required.
• Ensure that risk assessments and permit-to-work systems are effectively implemented and adhered to by all operatives.
• Implement the safety controls necessary to comply with local legal requirements and client specifications.
• Assist the HSE Superintendent in ensuring that an effective HSE risk management process is established and maintained.

Site Inspection and Operational Safety

• Conduct regular daily site inspections and monitor high-risk activities to ensure full compliance with HSE requirements.
• Ensure safe access, good housekeeping, and proper safety signage, and liaise with storekeepers to arrange approved HSE materials and resources.
• Ensure and enforce compliance with PPE requirements and site rules.

HSE Training and Awareness

• Conduct project HSE induction training and monthly HSE training for all new workers, including subcontractors.
• Develop and implement monthly project HSE training schedules, including training for subcontractors.
• Provide job-specific training to the project workforce in line with identified risks and approved risk assessments.

Environmental and Emergency Preparedness

• Monitor environmental compliance and report any deviations, ensuring timely corrective action is taken.
• Inspect and maintain the condition of firefighting equipment and ensure emergency procedures are current and effectively implemented.

Incident Reporting and Follow-Up

• Follow up on HSE meeting action points as directed by the HSE Superintendent.
• Maintain and monitor accident and incident reports in accordance with company policies and procedures, conduct investigations, and submit the required documentation to the HSE Superintendent.

Coordination and Continuous Improvement

• Assist the HSE Superintendent in coordinating with the project operations team, consultants, and relevant government authorities.

Qualifications, Experience, Knowledge & Skills

Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within well-established contracting companies in the GCC.

• NEBOSH certification is required.
• Diploma or degree, as required by client specifications or relevant zoning authority requirements.
• Ability to work in outdoor environments and site conditions, including shift work within manual or workshop settings.
• Strong knowledge of HSE standards, operational hazards, control measures, and international HSE best practices.
• Hands‑on experience in implementing ISO 45001 and ISO 14001 requirements.
• Ability to influence employees and promote the effective implementation of HSE tools and practices.
