Job summary

AECOM is seeking a detail-oriented HSE Engineer (Site Supervision) in Abu Dhabi, UAE to oversee health, safety and environmental compliance across operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards and company policies.

You will conduct risk assessments, audits, and incident investigations, while developing safety plans, providing training, and maintaining documentation to foster a strong safety culture on site.

Qualifications

• Minimum 12 years of professional experience in HSE engineering or site safety supervision.
• Strong knowledge of UAE and GCC HSE regulations, labor laws, and industry standards.
• Experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analyses, and safety audits.
• Demonstrated expertise in incident investigation and root cause analysis.
• Proficiency in developing and implementing safety management systems and procedures.
• NEBOSH certification or equivalent HSE qualification (preferred).
• Familiarity with ISO 45001 occupational health and safety management standards (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Oversee HSE compliance across operations and ensure regulatory adherence.
• Supervise site activities to ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
• Conduct risk assessments and hazard analyses to prevent incidents.
• Develop, implement and maintain site-specific safety plans and procedures.
• Perform safety audits and investigations with corrective actions.
• Provide safety training and competency assessments for workers.
• Maintain HSE documentation and reports per regulatory requirements.
• Coordinate with site management, contractors and regulators.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive best practices in safety management.
• Monitor safety performance metrics and track trends.
• Ensure proper use and maintenance of PPE and safety equipment on site.
