Job summary

WSP USA in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced HSE Officer to embed health, safety and environmental policies across projects, sites and offices in line with local and international rules.

You will review RAMS, conduct audits, lead drills, coordinate regulatory liaison, and drive continuous improvement with strong communication. A NEBOSH IGC and 7+ years on infrastructure projects are expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering or a relevant subject.
• NEBOSH International General Certificate (IGC) or equivalent.
• Minimum 7+ years of experience in infrastructure projects, preferably pumping station and storage tanks.
• Strong knowledge of HSEQ management systems and regulatory requirements.
• Excellent communication and leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Ensure health, safety, and environmental arrangements meet legal, client, and company standards.
• Review and approve RAMS before work, aligning with requirements.
• Conduct HSE inspections and audits with documented corrective actions.
• Coordinate emergency response drills and ensure legal compliance.
• Investigate contractor incidents and verify root cause analysis.
• Provide HSE guidance to teams and stakeholders for continuous improvement.
• Conduct HSE meetings, toolbox talks, and training sessions.
• Liaise with regulatory authorities to ensure compliance.
• Prepare monthly HSE reports with KPIs and initiatives.
• Promote safety culture with leadership and site engagement.
• Monitor environmental aspects and ensure sustainability requirements.
• Track HSE performance trends and propose improvements.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools.
