Job summary
Penspen in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, is seeking a Sr. Engineer – HSE (Project) to implement, monitor, and enforce HSE standards on offshore oil & gas projects.
The role focuses on compliance with international regulations and client requirements and requires strong leadership to drive safety on both offshore platforms and onshore sites. The ideal candidate has 15+ years in HSE for oil & gas, offshore project experience, a Bachelor’s degree in engineering, and relevant certifications
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related discipline.
- Relevant HSE certifications preferred (NEBOSH, IOSH, or equivalent).
- 15+ years of HSE experience in oil & gas projects.
Responsibilities
- Implement and monitor project HSE plans, procedures, and policies.
- Ensure compliance with local and international HSE regulations.
- Lead HSE activities for offshore and onshore project sites.
- Conduct risk assessments, HAZID/HAZOP, JSA, and toolbox talks.
- Monitor safe work practices and permit-to-work systems.
- Carry out site inspections, audits, and safety observations.
- Investigate incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions; prepare reports.
- Coordinate emergency response drills and safety training.
- Liaise with project management, contractors, and clients on HSE matters.
- Promote safety culture and continuous improvement on site.
