A leading construction consultancy in the UAE is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Deputy Head of the Department. This strategic role entails advanced geotechnical design, team management, and collaboration with various departments. Ideal candidates should hold a Master's degree in Geotechnical Engineering and have significant experience, especially in piling and foundations. A strong command of English and proficiency in software like PLAXIS and SAFE is essential. Experience in the UAE is preferred for successful engagement in large-scale projects.

Qualifications

• 1215 years of professional experience, including 5 years in a senior or leadership role.
• Extensive experience with a piling and foundation contracting company.
• Proven ability in team leadership, mentoring and cross-disciplinary coordination.
• Advanced proficiency in PLAXIS 3D for FEM and soil-structure interaction.
• Strong knowledge of SAFE for foundation and slab analysis.
• Hands-on experience in ground improvement techniques.
• Deep expertise in deep foundation systems (piles, diaphragm walls, anchors, barrettes).
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken).
• PE / Chartered Engineer status is highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Geotechnical and foundation design for complex systems.
• Perform advanced 3D modeling using PLAXIS 3D.
• Manage and mentor a team of geotechnical engineers.
• Design and review ground improvement works such as vibro compaction and stone columns.
• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports.
• Ensure compliance with international and local codes (BS Eurocodes, ACI, UAE local authority, Saudi Building Code).
• Manage, mentor and develop a multidisciplinary team of geotechnical engineers, designers and CAD draftsmen.
• Coordinate with construction, planning, QA/QC and commercial teams.
• Support business development including technical proposals, tenders and client presentations.

Skills

One of our leading Construction industry clients in the UAE is seeking a Senior Geotechnical Engineer - Deputy Head of the Department who will hold a strategic leadership position combining advanced technical expertise with team management.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Geotechnical and foundation design for complex systems including:
  • Bored piles, secant piles, diaphragm walls, barrettes
  • Anchors, struts, piled raft foundations

• Perform advanced 3D finite lactosement modeling using PLAXIS 3D for soil‑structureadha interaction analysis
• Conduct structural analysis of raft foundations and ground slabs using SAFE
• Design and review ground improvement works including:
  • Vibro compaction
  • Stone columns
  • Dynamic compaction

• Review and approve design calculations, drawings, specifications and technical reports
• Ensure full compliance with international and local codes:
  • BS Eurocodes, ACI
  • UAE local authority requirements

Requirements

The Ideal Candidate should meet the following criteria:

• Masters degree in Geotechnical Engineering / Soil Mechanics / Civil Engineering from a top‑tier university
• 1215 years of professional experience, including 5 years in a senior or leadership role
• Mandatory: Extensive experience with a piling and foundation contracting company (Consultancy‑only backgrounds will not be considered)
• Advanced proficiency in PLAXIS 3D for FEM and soil‑structure interaction
• Strong working knowledge of SAFE for foundation and slab analysis
• Hands‑on experience in ground improvement techniques
• Deep expertise in deep foundation systems (piles, diaphragm walls, anchors, barrettes)
• Proven ability in team leadership, mentoring and cross‑disciplinary coordination
• Excellent command of English (written and spoken)
• PE / Chartered Engineer status is highly preferred

• Familiarity with Dubai Municipality, Abu Dhabi Municipality and Saudi Building Code requirements
