Job summary

SearchPlus HR Consultancy invites an experienced Consultant General Surgeon for a premier UAE healthcare client in Abu Dhabi. The role requires UK CCT in General Surgery or equivalent, with extensive general and advanced laparoscopic experience.

You will lead complex cases, supervise trainees, contribute to clinical governance, and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, while navigating UAE medical licensing and relocation support.

Qualifications

• UK CCT in General Surgery or equivalent recognized by UAE licensing authority.
• Substantial consultant-level clinical experience in general surgery.
• Proven expertise in general surgical procedures and advanced laparoscopy.
• Current medical registration and certificate of good standing.

Responsibilities

• Provide consultant-level surgical care, including assessment, diagnosis, treatment planning, operative management, and postoperative follow-up.
• Perform elective and emergency general surgical procedures per guidelines and scope of practice.
• Demonstrate expertise in minimally invasive and advanced laparoscopic surgery where trained.
• Manage complex surgical conditions involving GI tract, abdominal wall, and other general surgery areas.
• Conduct preoperative evaluations, assess risks, obtain informed consent, and develop treatment plans.
• Lead multidisciplinary discussions and coordinate care with anaesthesiology, radiology, gastroenterology, critical care, etc.
• Ensure postoperative monitoring, complication management, and continuity of care.
• Participate in clinical audits, morbidity/mortality reviews, and quality improvement.
