Job summary

SteerAI is seeking a Senior Functional Safety Engineer to lead safety‑critical and autonomous vehicle system development. The role centers on functional safety and SOTIF tasks, with hands‑on HARA, FSC, TSC, FTA and FMEA, across a governance framework.

A minimum of 6 years’ experience and proactive mindset are required. Responsibilities include hazard analysis, safety concept derivation, traceability, and safety architecture discussions, with opportunities to shape SteerAI’s safety processes as

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in electrical, mechanical, systems, automotive engineering or a related field.
• Minimum 4 years of experience in automotive or safety‑critical systems engineering.
• Practical ISO 26262 experience on at least one development project.
• Hands‑on experience with HARA, FSC and/or TSC, FTA, FMEA.
• Exposure to SOTIF concepts for ADAS or autonomous functions.
• Strong engineering safety principles, attention to detail and cross‑team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Perform Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessment (HARA) at item and system level.
• Develop and maintain inputs to the Functional Safety Concept (FSC) and safety goals.
• Support Technical Safety Concept (TSC) derivation and allocate safety requirements.
• Maintain traceability between hazards, safety goals and requirements.
• Support SOTIF hazard identification and scenario analysis with mitigation measures.
• Conduct or support FTA and FMEA analyses and safety architecture discussions.
