Job summary

PECO MEP in Dubai is seeking a Project Engineer – Fire Protection to lead and supervise planning, execution, testing, commissioning, and completion of fire protection and life safety projects. The role demands strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems, excellent coordination, and hands-on UAE project experience.

The successful candidate will ensure projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, while complying with UAE Fire & Life Safety requirements and authority

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 5–8 years of relevant experience in fire protection, firefighting, fire alarm, or MEP projects.
• Strong knowledge of fire protection system design, installation, testing, and commissioning.
• Experience with UAE projects and DCD requirements and approval procedures.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and specifications.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other project management software.
• Excellent project coordination, communication, and problem‑solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Plan, coordinate, and supervise the execution of fire protection and life safety systems at project sites.
• Design, review, and supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of systems.
• Coordinate with Dubai Civil Defense (DCD) for drawings, inspections, and certificates.
• Prepare and review technical submittals, material approvals, method statements, and shop drawings.
• Coordinate with contractors, consultants, suppliers, and other stakeholders.
• Attend site meetings and resolve technical issues and coordination requirements.
• Coordinate testing and commissioning and ensure compliance with codes and standards.
• Monitor progress, manpower, materials, and site activities to ensure timely completion.
• Prepare progress, inspection, testing, and commissioning records and handover documents.
