We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Project Engineer – Fire Protection System to manage and supervise the planning, execution, testing, commissioning, and completion of fire protection and life safety projects. The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge of fire protection systems, excellent project coordination skills, and hands‑on UAE project experience. The candidate will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time, within scope, budget, and in compliance with UAE Fire & Life Safety requirements and applicable authority standards.
Plan, coordinate, and supervise the execution of fire protection and fire & life safety systems at project sites.
Design, review, and supervise installation, testing, and commissioning of:
Coordinate with Dubai Civil Defense (DCD) for drawing approvals, inspections, comments, and completion certificates. Review and verify shop drawings, single-line diagrams, hydraulic calculations, and technical drawings. Prepare and review technical submittals, material approvals, method statements, inspection requests, and shop drawings. Coordinate with main contractors, MEP consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and other project stakeholders. Attend site meetings and resolve technical issues and site coordination requirements. Respond to RFIs and technical queries and provide appropriate engineering solutions. Supervise installation activities to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and project requirements. Plan and coordinate testing and commissioning of fire protection and fire alarm systems. Conduct site inspections, quality checks, and safety audits to ensure proper installation and workmanship. Ensure all works comply with the UAE Fire & Life Safety Code of Practice, DCD requirements, project specifications, and applicable standards. Monitor project progress, manpower, materials, and site activities to ensure timely completion. Coordinate material procurement and ensure materials are available as per project requirements. Identify project risks, technical issues, and potential delays and take corrective action. Prepare progress reports, inspection reports, testing and commissioning records, and other project documentation. Coordinate final inspections, authority approvals, testing, commissioning, and project handover. Support preventive maintenance and troubleshooting activities for fire protection and fire alarm systems when required. Ensure proper preparation and submission of as-built drawings, O&M manuals, testing certificates, and handover documents.
Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or a related engineering discipline. 5–8 years of relevant experience in fire protection, firefighting, fire alarm, or MEP projects. Strong knowledge of fire protection system design, installation, testing, and commissioning. Experience working on UAE projects, preferably with Dubai Civil Defense (DCD) requirements and approval procedures. Good understanding of UAE Fire & Life Safety Code of Practice and relevant international standards. Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, shop drawings, hydraulic calculations, and specifications. Proficiency in Auto CAD and other relevant engineering/project management software. Strong project coordination, communication, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work independently and manage multiple project activities simultaneously.
Experience in high-rise residential, commercial, hotel, industrial, or mixed-use projects. Previous experience coordinating with DCD and MEP consultants. Knowledge of NFPA standards and other applicable fire protection standards. Experience in project planning, progress monitoring, and site supervision. Strong knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures.
