Job summary

Sheraton Hotels & Resorts in Sharjah seeks a seasoned Engineering & Facilities Manager to oversee all engineering/maintenance operations, safety, and asset protection. You will manage the budget, capital projects, preventive maintenance, and energy conservation while ensuring regulatory compliance and emergency response readiness.

Lead engineering staff, maintain critical systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing), ensure life-safety standards, and deliver guest-focused service while controlling costs

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with 4 years experience in engineering/maintenance or related area; HVAC-R, electrical or plumbing training.
• Alternative: 2-year degree in Building/Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or related major with 2 years related experience.
• Knowledge of safety, building operations, regulatory compliance and energy conservation.
• Proven ability to lead maintenance teams and manage department budgets.

Responsibilities

• Manage engineering/maintenance operations and budget, and lead capital expenditure projects.
• Oversee preventative maintenance and energy conservation programs.
• Ensure regulatory compliance and supervise emergency response for the facility.
• Direct day-to-day operations of engineering and supervise staff.
• Maintain and inspect building systems (HVAC, electrical, plumbing) and life-safety systems.

Education

High school diploma or GED, 4 years experience in engineering/maintenance

2-year degree in Building/Construction, Engineering, Mechanics or related major
