Job summary

Chicago Bridge & Iron Company is seeking a Senior Expeditor to oversee expediting for one or more projects in Dubai. You will ensure timely delivery of PO and MTRs, coordinate with procurement and subcontractors, and drive issue resolution to protect the project schedule.

The role requires extensive experience in expediting, strong communication, and the ability to manage multiple deliveries in a fast-paced EPC environment.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years in Supply Chain and 6+ years in EPC industry or similar field.
  • Knowledge of expediting processes and procurement practices.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with procurement personnel and non-procurement personnel.

Responsibilities

  • Review PO delivery requirements to ensure quality and project needs are met.
  • Identify expediting levels and prioritize workload to meet schedules and shop demands.
  • Expedite Purchase Orders and MTRs accurately and promptly.
  • Advise on sourcing materials based on Engineering specs, contract requirements and CB&I standards.
  • Coordinate with project teams and clients on deviations, QCs and document flow.
  • Maintain updated delivery dates in the system and produce weekly expediting reports.

Overview

The Senior Expeditor is a professional role accountable for the oversight of expediting specific deliverables on one or more projects as directed. This position is a professional role recognized as an industry expert in Expediting required to be accountable and meet performance/quality metrics and ensuring contractual obligations are met.

This position is a Senior Professional (P3) role with experience in Expediting in CB&I related markets, products, clients, and customers.

Responsibilities
  • • Reviews purchase order delivery requirements to assure quality and project requirements are met
  • • Identifies and understands levels of required expediting and actions workload to optimize material deliveries according to project schedule requirements and shop demands
  • • Includes accurate and timely expediting of Purchase Orders and MTRs
  • • Based on Engineering specifications, contract requirements and minimum CB&I standards, provide direction on sourcing of materials along with contract flow downs and documents needed from supplier for full compliance and adequacy of orders
  • • Participate where required in the TEDS process, and liaise with client for any deviation through Project Team (raising TQ or deviations as warranted to clear points)
  • • Review supplier deliverables for alignment with the set requirement
  • • Compile Inspection Assignment Packages consisting of unpriced PO / IRF / SDR / RITA (along with the docs) / drawings and data sheets as applicable along with ensuring latest revisions are always updated and communicated
  • • Coordinate source inspections and notifications as necessary to client, and ensure iDocs is always up to date with source inspector records, signed certs and supplier inspection records
  • • Perform Supplier Audits where required
  • • Completes consistent and timely updates to delivery dates in the Company system, and distributes weekly expediting reports to the Project Team and to Suppliers
  • • Ensures Supplier’s timely delivery of all items on Purchase Orders to maintain Project schedule
  • • Works with procurement management to identify performance gaps and delays including engineering drawing delays, fabrication problems, delivery delays, sub-supplier management and people resources
  • • Ensures expediting issues are being coordinated between the other departments, offices, fabrication and construction teams to meet project requirements and deadlines
  • • Notifies and collaborates with Logistics subject matter expert on material movements that fall within CB&I responsibility
  • • Maintains and promotes a focus on CB&I end-product whether procurement, engineering, fabrication or construction related
  • • Ensures effective communications among procurement disciplines, clients, project teams, and suppliers
  • • Management of Supplier warranty claim, notification to suppliers and track any charges /claims.
  • • Prepare, update and issue comprehensive progress Report on timely basis.
Qualifications
  • • All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.
  • • 8+ Yrs. In Supply Chain; 6+ years in EPC industry in similar field
  • • Demonstrates a knowledge of the expediting process as related to procurement.
  • • Ability to effectively communicate to procurement personnel and non-procurement personnel
