Job summary

Chicago Bridge & Iron Company in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a Site Buyer to identify sources and manage procurement for storage and asset management projects. You will evaluate bids, awards contracts, and maintain vendor pricing descriptions, reporting to the Project Procurement Lead.

The role requires 3-5 years of relevant EPC industry experience and a BA/BS in a related field. You will work on-site in Abu Dhabi with training at the Dubai office, focusing on cost control and schedule

Qualifications

• 3-5 Years of relevant work experience.
• EPC Industry experience preferred.
• BA or BS degree in Supply Chain, Business, Technical / Engineering, Construction Management or related field (Required).

Responsibilities

• Promote and uphold the company’s HSE requirements and culture.
• Prepare contract documents and bidders list; qualify new bidders.
• Issue requests for quotation from vendors and manage procurement process.
• Purchase project materials and services in line with schedules and budgets.
• Conduct bid evaluations and issue purchase orders for items.
• Negotiate PO terms for regional and international purchases.
• Assist with evaluation, award and conforming processes.
• Resolve simple vendor claims or disputes when they arise.
• Support estimating/proposal work with budgetary pricing as needed.

Overview

The Site Buyer is responsible for identifying varied sources of commodities and services, evaluate bids, awards contracts and purchase orders, maintains contact with vendors, and maintains comprehensive descriptions of available products and current prices of CB&I Storage Solutions’ products and services. The role directly reports to the Project Procurement Lead and routinely interacts with Engineering, Operations and Estimating.

Responsibilities

• Proactively embraces and promotes the company’s HSE requirement’s and culture
• Prepares contract documents and bidders list, proactively seeks out and qualifies new potential bidders.
• Assembles and distributes requests for quotation from vendors.
• Responsible for purchase of project material and project services at or below estimate using procurement processes while maintaining consistency with schedule requirements.
• Perform bid evaluations and issue purchase orders for commodity items and finished goods
• Negotiate small to medium value purchase orders for regional and/or international purchases
• Assists with the evaluation, award and conforming process.
• Able to resolve simple claim or dispute events with vendors.
• May be responsible for soliciting budgetary pricing for equipment, material, or labor to support estimating/proposal efforts for a non-major project or projects.
• Proactively recommends, supports and implements improvements to tools, systems and software to improve efficiency and maximize autonomy.

Local Requirements

• This is a project site based role that requires 2-3 months of training at our Dubai office.
• Preference will be given to candidates with single status due to the nature of the assignment and location requirements.

Qualifications

All applicants must be able to complete pre-employment onboarding requirements (if selected) which may include any/all of the following: criminal/civil background check, drug screen, and motor vehicle records search, in compliance with any applicable laws and regulations.

Preferred Job Qualifications:

• 3-5 Years of relevant work experience
• EPC Industry experience is preferred.
