Job summary

Dorchester Collection in Dubai seeks an Assistant Chief Engineer to lead the hotel’s engineering operations and ensure peak asset performance. You will supervise a team, coordinate with external contractors, and drive maintenance programs to minimize downtime while upholding safety standards.

The role emphasizes strategic planning, CAPEX input, and ensuring an exceptional guest experience through reliable engineering services. Previous hospitality engineering leadership is preferred.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree or equivalent professional qualification.
• Experience in building and construction, with mechanical/electrical systems.
• Proven project management and cross-functional coordination.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations applicable to hospitality.
• P&L and cost management experience.

Responsibilities

• Oversee efficient operation of hotel property and maintain equipment.
• Supervise engineering team and contractors.
• Manage structural & grounds maintenance and safety compliance.
• Coordinate with Director of Engineering on maintenance strategies.
• Lead preventive and predictive maintenance programs.
• Support annual CAPEX planning and project delivery.
