Job summary

Dorchester Collection is seeking an Assistant Chief Engineer to lead engineering operations for a luxury hotel in Dubai. You will supervise the engineering team, coordinate with contractors, and ensure the smooth functioning of all mechanical, electrical, and building systems while upholding safety and quality standards.

You will drive preventive maintenance programs, support annual CAPEX plans, and manage asset reliability to deliver exceptional guest experiences.

Qualifications

• Bachelor-level degree in Building and Construction, Engineering, Mechanical or related field.
• Hands-on engineering experience with mechanical/electrical systems, HVAC, plumbing, and controls.
• Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously and coordinating with contractors.
• Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations and compliance.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the efficient operation of the hotel and all engineering maintenance and repair.
• Lead an engineering team and contractors, ensuring safety and quality.
• Coordinate preventive and predictive maintenance to maximize equipment life.
• Assist in budgeting, CAPEX planning, and project delivery on time and within budget.
• Ensure records and documentation for tests and surveys are properly maintained.
