Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) is seeking a seasoned Instrumentation/Control engineer to provide technical expertise across engineering subjects and ensure quality design execution. You will coordinate with Technical Departments, Operations, and contractors to resolve issues and align with standards.

The role requires preparing scopes of work, reviewing drawings, applying advanced design methods, and supporting procedures and guidelines.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation/ Electronics/ Control Engineering
  • 8 years of experience in Instrument / Electronics / Control Engineering
  • Strong technical and design review capabilities
  • Ability to coordinate with multiple stakeholders and contractors

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical expertise on Instrument/ Control Engineering and design.
  • Coordinate with Technical Departments, Operations and contractors to resolve issues and ensure quality design execution.
  • Prepare scope of work for external consultants and EPC contractors.
  • Review drawings, specifications and documents for Instrumentation and Controls.
  • Perform design validation and optimization calculations.
  • Apply state-of-the-art technology for cost-effective solutions and engineering guidelines.
  • Provide input for procedures, standards and engineering guidelines.
  • Liaise with other discipline engineers to manage interfaces and provide technical authority.
  • Conduct authority reviews and manage deviations to company specs.
  • Plan, supervise and develop staff; contribute to budgets and performance objectives.

Job Specific Accountabilities (Part 1)

About the Role:

Provide technical expertise on all engineering subject matters pertaining to Instrument/ Control Engineering and design.
Coordinate and interface with other Technical Departments, Business Units, Operations and contractors/ consultants to resolve technical issues and ensure quality Instrument & Control engineering design execution and integrity.

Prepares scope of work for external consultants and EPC contractors for the execution of jobs.

  • Reviews the design works and studies performed by the Engineering Consultants and ensure that they are in accordance with the technical requirements and meet the standards.
  • Reviews and approves drawings, specifications and technical documents for all Instrumentation and Controls Design related works.
  • Performs calculations for design validation and optimization.
  • Ensures that the state-of-art technology is applied throughout the engineering phase for cost effective solutions and application of value added engineering throughout the assigned works.
  • Provides input/update Engineering Procedures, Company standards, Technical Specifications, Design Philosophies and Engineering Guidelines.
  • Provides technical assistance, coordination and liaison with other discipline engineers within the Company and other business units to acquire technical and general requirements and manage interfaces.
  • Provides in house technical authority and specialized skills support for problem solving.
  • Conducts Technical authority reviews and acceptance of vendor/supplier deviations or non-compliance requests to the company specifications/standards submitted by the project PMC.

Supervision

  • Plan, supervise and coordinate all activities in the assigned area to meet functional objectives.
  • Train and develop the assigned staff on relevant skills to enable them to become proficient on the job and deliver the respective section objectives.

Budgets

  • Provide input for preparation of the functional budgets and assist in the implementation of the approved Budget and work plans to deliver Section objectives.
  • Investigate and highlight any significant variances to support effective performance and cost control

Policies, Systems, Processes & Procedures

  • Implement approved Section / Department policies, processes, systems, standards and procedures in order to support execution of the Section’s / Department work programs in line with Company and International standards.

Performance Management

  • Contribute to the achievement of the approved Performance objectives for the function in line with the Company Performance framework.

Innovation and Continuous Improvement

  • Design and implement new tools and techniques to improve the quality and efficiency of operational processes.
  • Identify improvements in internal processes against best practices in pursuit of greater efficiency in line with best Industry standards in order to define intelligent solutions for issues confronting the function.

Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) and Sustainability

  • Compliance with relevant HSE policies, procedures & controls and applicable legislation and sustainability guidelines in line with international standards, best practices and ADNOC Code of Practices.

Reports

  • Provide inputs to prepare Section MIS and progress reports for Company Management.
Minimum Qualification

Qualification & Experience:

Bachelor Degree in Instrumentation/ Electronics/ Control Engineering

8 years of experience in Instrument / Electronics / Control Engineering
