Job summary

Bourn Hall Al Ain in the United Arab Emirates is seeking a senior embryologist to lead advanced embryology services in the IVF laboratory and supervise the embryology team. You will collaborate with clinicians to optimise patient outcomes and drive quality and compliance across the service.

The role requires a Master’s in Clinical Embryology or Reproductive Sciences, a DHA/DOH/MOH Embryologist licence, and extensive IVF lab experience including ICSI and cryopreservation.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in Clinical Embryology or Reproductive Sciences is required.
• Valid or eligible DHA, DOH or MOH licence as an Embryologist is required.
• Essential: Master’s degree in Clinical Embryology or Reproductive Sciences; licence as Embryologist.

Responsibilities

• Perform advanced embryology and andrology procedures, including ICSI, embryo culture and assessment, embryo transfer, biopsy, cryopreservation and gamete handling.
• Ensure effective laboratory operations, equipment management, safety and quality control.
• Maintain high standards of quality assurance, documentation and regulatory compliance.
• Provide technical guidance, training, supervision and mentorship to embryologists and laboratory staff.
• Collaborate with clinicians and multidisciplinary teams throughout patient treatment cycles.
• Contribute to research, service development and the implementation of improved laboratory techniques and protocols.

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB

To provide advanced embryology services within the IVF laboratory, ensuring high standards of clinical and laboratory practice across assisted reproductive technologies. The role provides technical leadership and supervision to the embryology team, works closely with clinicians to optimise patient outcomes, and supports quality, compliance and continuous improvement within the IVF service.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

• Minimum 5 years’ experience in an IVF laboratory with hands‑on experience in key embryology procedures, including ICSI, embryo culture, embryo transfer, cryopreservation and sperm preparation.
• 8 years’ experience within an IVF laboratory.
• Experience within a JCI-accredited facility or multi‑site IVF operation.
• Previous involvement in embryology research or quality assurance programmes.

REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE

• Advanced knowledge and practical expertise in IVF laboratory and embryology procedures.
• UAE regulatory healthcare framework related to IVF
• Strong skills in ICSI, embryo culture and grading, cryopreservation, andrology and micromanipulation techniques.
• Strong understanding of laboratory quality control, quality assurance, SOPs and regulated clinical practices.
• Strong commitment to patient confidentiality, safety and ethical practice.
