Senior ELV Design Engineer

Job summary

GHD Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced Senior ELV Design Engineer to lead ELV design for diverse infrastructure and buildings projects. You will work within an integrated multi-disciplinary team across transport, buildings and other project types.

The role requires hands-on design across ELV systems, collaboration with project managers and architects, and mentoring junior engineers. Minimum 8–10 years in ELV design with Middle East experience is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 8–10 years of experience in an international design firm specializing in ELV systems design with at least 5 years experience in the Middle East, preferably UAE.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD, Revit and other design software.
• Strong knowledge of ELV systems including security systems, telecommunications, audiovisual systems and building automation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Be responsible for all aspects of ELV design and delivery on assigned projects ensuring quality standards are met and projects are completed on time.
• Design all ELV systems including but not limited to Telecommunication, PAVA, AV Systems, Electronic Security Systems, Structured Cabling System including Passive and Active components design from conceptual to construction phase.
• Produce compliant design with all local authorities (Etisalat, Du, ADMMC, SIRA, etc.).
• Collaborate with project managers, architects and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of ELV systems into overall project designs.
• Prepare detailed design drawings, block diagrams, specifications and documentation for ELV systems.
• Produce necessary ELV calculations including CCTV Field of View and Lens Calculation, Recording Time and Capacity Calculation, Wi-Fi Heat maps, etc.
• Conduct site surveys and assessments to determine project requirements and constraints.
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers and technicians.
• Ensure compliance with industry standards, codes and regulations.
• Participate in project meetings and provide technical expertise to clients and stakeholders.

• Design all Extra Low Voltage (ELV) systems including but not limited to Telecommunication PAVA AV Systems Electronic Security Systems Structured Cabling System including Passive and Active components design from conceptual design phase to construction phase.

• Collaborate with project managers architects and other engineers to ensure seamless integration of ELV systems into overall project designs.
