Job summary

GHD in Abu Dhabi is seeking an experienced ELV Design Engineer to join our expanding engineering team. You will contribute to telecom, CCTV, AV, and structured cabling design across infrastructure, buildings, and transport projects.

You will work within a multidisciplinary environment, coordinate with BIM modelers, and ensure designs comply with local authorities. A minimum 3–5 years in engineering consultancy and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3–5 years of experience in an engineering consultancy.
• Commercial acumen to provide cost-effective ELV solutions.
• Enthusiasm for ELV systems integration and latest updates.
• Outstanding written and verbal communication; ability to translate IT concepts.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent communication skills beyond tech talk.

Responsibilities

• Design ELV systems including Telecommunication, PAVA, AV, CCTV, and Structured Cabling from concept to construction.
• Produce ELV calculations such as CCTV Field of View, lens, recording time and capacity.
• Coordinate with Architectural, MEP, and other disciplines during design.
• Ensure designs comply with local authorities (Etisalat, Du, ADMMC, SIRA) and obtain NOC/s.
• Prepare ELV packages: drawings, single line diagrams, specs and schedules.
• Liaise with local suppliers and coordinate with BIM modelers (Revit & CAD).
• Assist Sr. Engineer with design support, presentations, and tender documentation.

Due to a strong pipeline of projects, our Abu Dhabi team is expanding, and we are seeking an experienced ELV Design Engineer to undertake a variety of projects across the region. In this role you will work as part of an integrated multi‑disciplinary team across a variety of infrastructure, buildings, transport and other project types.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Design of other ELV systems including but not limited to Telecommunication, PAVA, AV Systems, Electronic Security Systems, Structured Cabling System including Passive and Active components design, from conceptual design phase to construction phase.
• Produce necessary ELV calculations including CCTV Field of View and lens calculation, recording time and capacity calculation, Wi‑Fi heat maps etc.
• Coordinate with other disciplines during the design phase, including Architectural, Interior Designers, MEP, Infrastructure, Landscape, etc.
• Produce compliant design with all local authorities (Etisalat, Du, ADMMC, SIRA, etc.) and obtain all required design NOC/s.
• Assist in the preparation and issuance of ELV Systems packages including drawings, single line diagrams, technical design report, schedules and specifications.
• Liaise with local suppliers to ensure adherence to standards and scope of works required by client.
• Coordinate with BIM modelers and carry out Revit & CAD design.
• Assist the Sr. Engineer for design support, presentations and tender documentation.
• Work well under pressure.
• Work well with colleagues.

Experience & Qualifications

• Proven experience in a design consultancy, demonstrated by a minimum of 3–5 years of experience within engineering consultancy.
• The commercial acumen to provide cost‑effective security and ELV solutions.
• An enthusiasm for staying up to date with the very latest updates about ELV systems integration and solutions.
• Outstanding communication skills that go beyond “tech talk” – the ability to translate complex IT matters to those without an IT background.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Excellent written and verbal skills, with the ability to communicate complex issues concisely.
