Job summary

Amazon Data Services Emirates LLC seeks a Senior Product Design Engineer with an Electrical Engineering background to lead the design and development of data center power distribution equipment, including LV switchgear, panels and cabinets. You will define specifications, work with global suppliers, and ensure compliance with applicable codes while collaborating across mechanical, reliability and QA teams.

The role requires hands-on experience from concept to deployment, strong problem-solving

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
Knowledge of critical data center mechanical and electrical equipment.
Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities.
Experience researching new designs, technologies, and construction methods of data center equipment and facilities.
Professional Engineering or Architectural License.
Knowledge of building codes and regulations for your region.
Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production.
Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents.

Responsibilities

Supports the Data Center Design Engineering, Principal Engineering, and Hardware Engineering teams to design and develop innovative concepts into new products for power distribution in data centers.
Lead new product design, development and work with internal teams to understand design requirements and solicit customer input.
Collaborate with mechanical and structural engineering, reliability, QA/QC and compliance to create well thought-out products.
Create designs that meet quality requirements while delivering return on investment.
Work with global suppliers and manufacturers to specify electrical equipment and BOMs.
Ensure compliance with building codes across different countries.
Prepare and approve product design drawings including BOMs, configurations, layouts, and wiring drawings.
Define project scope and provide technical support for information requests during manufacturing phases.
Work with field engineering and commissioning teams to set up test processes and validate installation and performance.
Manage concurrent projects across multiple regions.
Support Operations including failure mode analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting.
