Job summary

Parsons is seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer – Design in Abu Dhabi to lead the design and analysis of electrical systems for major infrastructure projects. You will produce concepts, detailed designs, and tender documents while coordinating with clients, stakeholders, and other engineers.

You should bring 10+ years of related experience, strong CAD and power systems tools proficiency, and familiarity with UAE project delivery.

Job Description / Role

Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team. In this role you will complete a wide variety of engineering assignments, applying engineering techniques and analyses. The Engineer at this level is a fully qualified professional, proficient in the utilization of most engineering theories and practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Preparation of concept, preliminary and detailed designs, design reports, preparation of Tender and Contract documents.
• Coordinate with Client, Stakeholders and third parties.
• Perform design/analyses calculations related to electrical works such as low voltage distribution network, medium voltage and high voltage networks, substations, pump stations, water and wastewater treatment plants, industrial plant electrification, standby power systems, AC/ DC power systems protection and controls and ELV systems.
• Develop General Arrangements, Layouts, plans, single line diagrams, protection diagrams, and schematic diagrams.
• Carryout design of pump station.
• Research and prepare design options and documents, value engineering studies, and review drawings.
• Extract engineering information from CAD drawings.
• Prepare engineering computations, material quantity takeoffs, estimates, surveys, and designs.
• Interface with other Engineering disciplines and departments.
• Review shop drawings, supplier drawing and technical submittals.
• Prepare and issue specifications, data sheets, and other construction documents.
• Perform technical tender analyses and prepare tender evaluation reports.
• Provide technical guidance to BIM modelers, CAD Designers, Drafters, and lower-level Engineers.

Experience Required

• Over 10 years of related experience with progressively increasing responsibility.
• At least 5 years as a Design Engineer on UAE projects with some responsibility for supervision of design resources.

Education Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering or any relevant discipline from an accredited university. Professional Engineer registration may be required.

Skills Required

• Fluent in International design practices, standards such as IEC, BS, ANSI.
• Proficiency in utilizing CAD and other engineering design software packages such as ETAP or Sincal, CYME, Dialux or similar.
• Worked on projects with local utility companies such as ADDC, TRANSCO, DEWA, FEWA etc. and well versed with their specifications and systems.
• Extensive and knowledgeable computer skills (AutoCAD), BIM.
• Ability to implement Quality Management System on projects effectively.

Languages

Good spoken and written English is essential. Knowledge of Arabic language is an advantage.
