Job summary

El Sewedy Power UAE Business Group in the United Arab Emirates seeks a Construction Senior Engineer to lead electrical engineering activities for 400kV substation projects and to review designs, calculations, and specifications.

The role requires 8–12 years of experience in HV/EHV substations, GIS/AIS experience, and strong coordination with civil, mechanical, protection & control, SCADA teams, clients, consultants, and suppliers.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
8–12 years of relevant experience in electrical engineering.
Strong experience in 400kV/220kV HV/EHV substation projects.
Experience with GIS/AIS substations and EPC projects.
UAE/GCC power transmission project experience is an advantage.
Strong knowledge of HV equipment, protection & control, SCADA, AC/DC systems, and substation automation.
Knowledge of IEC/IEEE standards and utility specifications.

Responsibilities

Lead and supervise electrical engineering activities for 400kV substation projects.
Review and prepare electrical design drawings, calculations, specifications, and technical documents.
Coordinate electrical engineering activities with Civil, Mechanical, Protection & Control, SCADA and other disciplines.
Coordinate with client, consultant, subcontractors and suppliers on technical matters.
Review and respond to client/consultant comments and ensure timely closure of issues.
Provide technical guidance and mentoring to junior engineers.
Support testing and commissioning activities for 400kV substations.
Ensure QA/QC, HSE and project engineering procedures are followed.
