Job summary

AECOM in Dubai seeks an experienced Inspector - Electrical - Buildings to ensure safety and compliance of electrical systems on diverse building projects in the city. You will read and interpret drawings, monitor contractor adherence to specs, document site activities and issue timely reports to the Resident Engineer.

Ideal candidates hold a bachelor's in Electrical Engineering, 5+ years of building electrical inspection experience, and familiarity with building codes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in electrical inspection or related field.
• Relevant electrical inspection certifications (e.g. ICC Electrical Inspector certification).
• In-depth knowledge of electrical systems in buildings and understanding of local and international building codes and regulations.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand package detailed drawings, specifications and health and safety measures.
• Ensure contractors comply with contract documents through observation, measurements and testing.
• Maintain records of contractor manpower and equipment.
• Supervise site inspections as required by RE/ARE.
• Document contractor activities, location, reason, tools and methods.
• Report on materials delivery and follow site instructions.
• Prepare site measurements and surveying checks.
• Monitor conformance to quality and code requirements.
