Job summary

Freight Force is seeking a Dry Bulk Operations & Chartering Executive to manage pre-fixture and post-fixture operations, bridging our chartering team, vessel masters, port agents, and international charterers to protect margins from fixture recap through final hire settlement.

You will oversee voyage estimation, vetting, contract review, voyage instructions, port agency, EDAs/FDAs, cargo documentation, laytime, and demurrage/despatch resolution, ensuring strict compliance across Subcontinent

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of dedicated experience in dry bulk vessel operations, post-fixture management, or within an exporter’s commercial shipping desk.
• Advanced knowledge of laytime calculations and dispute resolution; able to calculate a live demurrage claim from SOF and Charter Party extracts.
• Deep working knowledge of dry cargo frameworks—GENCON, voyage/time charter structures, deadfreight, liens, and port delivery terms (FIOST, FIO, FILO, Liner Terms).
• Thorough understanding of Subcontinent maritime infrastructure, especially draft restrictions and handling rates at Karachi Port and Port Qasim.
• Strong numerical and analytical capabilities; proficient in Excel for data modeling and voyage P&L.
• Professional verbal and written English communication with international owners, managers, and charterers across time zones.

Responsibilities

• Voyage Execution: Issue comprehensive Voyage Instructions to the Master per charter terms.
• Port Agency & Disbursement Account Management: Appoint brief port agents; audit EDAs/FDAs against tariffs for cost optimization.
• Cargo Documentation & Clearance: Oversee NOM, SOF, Bills of Lading, LOIs, draft surveys, hatch-sealing procedures.
• Vessel Performance Monitoring: Track noon reports, speed, bunker consumption, and port handling rates.
• Laytime & Claims Resolution: Calculate laytime, defend demurrage/despatch positions, and manage final voyage settlements.
