Job summary

Caliberly in Dubai, UAE seeks a Senior Director of Investment to lead large-scale portfolios (USD 100M+). You will define strategy, allocate capital across equities, fixed income, real estate, and alternatives, and drive risk-adjusted returns while ensuring regulatory compliance.

You will mentor the treasury team, manage key relationships with banks and fund managers, and report to the CEO and Investment Committee.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of progressive experience in banking, financial services, or investment/fund management with UAE exposure.
• Experience managing funds/portfolios of USD 100 million or more along with senior roles at banks, investment firms, or single/multi-family offices.
• Strong understanding of UAE and GCC regulatory, banking, and capital markets frameworks.
• Proven track record building and leading high-performance investment teams.

Responsibilities

Job Title -Senior Director Investment

Job Purpose

We are seeking a senior finance and investment professional to lead the management, allocation, and oversight of large-scale investment portfolios (USD 100 million and above) on behalf of the organisation. The ideal candidate brings a strong banking and financial services background within the UAE market, with a proven track record of managing institutional or family-office scale funds, driving portfolio strategy, and delivering consistent risk adjusted returns across market cycles.

Key Responsibilities

Lead the strategy, structuring, and active management of investment portfolios exceeding USD 100 million across asset classes (equities, fixed income, private equity, real estate, and alternatives).

Define and execute investment strategy and asset allocation frameworks aligned with the organisation's risk appetite and long-term growth objectives.

Drive portfolio diversification, capital deployment, and liquidity management to optimise risk-adjusted returns.

Build, mentor, and lead high-performing investment and treasury teams, fostering a culture of accountability and performance.

Represent the organisation with banks, fund managers, custodians, regulators, and institutional counterparties across the UAE and wider GCC market.

Own relationships on both the 'buy' and 'sell' sides, negotiating terms and structuring deals that protect and grow the portfolio.

Monitor macroeconomic trends, regulatory developments, and market conditions to proactively adjust strategy and mitigate downside risk.

Present investment performance, risk exposure, and strategic recommendations to the CEO, Board, and Investment Committee.

Ensure full compliance with UAE Central Bank, DFSA, SCA, and other applicable regulatory frameworks governing investment and banking activity.

Lead the organisation through periods of market volatility or crisis, demonstrated by a track record of navigating prior financial downturns.

Required Qualifications & Experience

10+ years of progressive experience in banking, financial services, or investment/fund management, with meaningful exposure to the UAE market.

Demonstrated experience managing or overseeing funds/portfolios of USD 100 million or more. Prior senior roles across international banks, regional banks, investment companies, or single/multi-family offices.

Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Business, or a related field; MBA, CFA, or equivalent professional qualification strongly preferred.

Solid understanding of UAE and GCC regulatory, banking, and capital markets frameworks.

Track record of building and leading high-performance finance/investment teams.
