Job summary

The Connected Co in Abu Dhabi seeks an Associate Director - Design Management to provide senior technical leadership across data centre and mission-critical developments. You will set design standards, drive governance, and ensure delivery from concept through handover.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, oversee BIM, risk management, sustainability, and value engineering, and partner with customers and internal stakeholders to meet resilience, capacity, and performance targets.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Mechanical/Civil/related engineering.
• Chartered Engineer status desirable.
• Additional data centre qualifications (CDCP, CDCS, Uptime Institute) advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Lead and establish the design management function across data centre projects.
• Develop and maintain design standards, requirements, and documentation.
• Oversee Basis of Design and ensure alignment with standards, regs, and customer needs.
• Translate objectives into technical and design requirements.
• Manage full design lifecycle from feasibility to handover.
• Lead design governance, assurance, and value engineering.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary teams including architects, consultants, OEMs.
• Oversee BIM/digital design, clash detection, and information exchange.
• Ensure redundancy, resilience, capacity, and operability in designs.
